In 1987 Tom Selleck, Ted Danson and Steve Guttenberg all starred in the hugely popular film 3 Men and A Baby film.
A rumor started up, and lets face it its something you can clearly see in the film.
A scene with Ted Danson and the baby shows what appears to be a "ghost" of a boy and a gun pointed into the ground in the background.
The story continues.....
It is claimed that captured in this scene is the ghost of a 9 year old boy who committed suicide in the apartment used for filming. The parents sold the apartment immediately after the suicide and the studio used it for the film Three Men and A Baby.
The story went on to tell how this boy's mother appeared on popular chat shows and was very upset at her boy's ghost appearing in the film and did the usual of going insane and ending up in an asylum for the rest of her life....sound familiar??
Unfortunately none of this is true.
It is believed that the rumor of the ghost boy started when the film was first released onto video and helped with the promotion of the sequel "Three Men and a Little Lady". Some say that the studio created the rumor to promote these, however that is unconfirmed at this time.
The inside scenes for Three Men and A Baby were in fact filmed on a studio set in Toronto and no actual apartment ever existed, hence there is no ghost.
Once pointed out it all makes perfect sense doesn't it?
The image you see in the background is actually a cardboard cutout of Ted Danson. The cardboard cutout featured in a scene that was edited out of the original film, but the cardboard cutout appears in the background of the original film and has the appearance of a small boy and the lapel appears as the gun in one occasion.
The scenes featured in the film appear slightly different than the image below due to the curtains being over the cardboard cutout and the different angles of the cutout being filmed.
